Our Contribution to the Formation Evaluation Week at the SPE Venezuela. Eastern Section.

February 2025 was a period of intense exchange of knowledge and technical expertise. We had the great honor of participating in the Formation Evaluation Week, a highly relevant event organized by the Eastern Venezuelan Section of the SPE (Specialized Training Service).

Together with our main partner, Inter-Rock, we presented a series of papers that addressed critical and current topics in reservoir characterization. We are deeply honored by the invitation and extremely pleased with the success of the event.

🎙️ Featured Presentations: Three Keys to Accurate Characterization

Our experts shared insights and advanced methodologies, demonstrating the direct impact of integrating geoscience and reservoir engineering.

1. Use of Statistical Graphs in Reservoir Characterization

  • Speaker: Rafael Panesso
  • Focus: This presentation highlighted how the strategic use of statistical graphics transcends simple data visualization. They are powerful tools for the early detection of trends and anomalies, and for validating data quality, which are fundamental for making sound decisions in data characterization.

2. Importance of Rock Typing in the Generation of Integrated Petrophysical Models

  • Speaker: Juan Carlos Porras
  • Focus: The concept of Rock Typing was explored in depth as an essential step for grouping reservoir rocks with similar petrophysical properties. This allows for the generation of more robust and integrated petrophysical models, reducing uncertainty in the estimation of parameters such as porosity and permeability.

3. Characterization of Flow Units based on Reservoir Rock Quality and Producer Fluid Saturation

  • Speaker: Alfonso Quaglia
  • Focus: The focus was on defining Flow Units, hydraulically coherent units that control fluid movement. The presentation demonstrated how the correlation between rock quality and producible fluid saturation is vital for predicting reservoir behavior and optimizing production strategies.

🤝 Strategic Alliances and Commitment to Training

Our success at SPE Week is a testament to the strength that emerges from collaboration. We thank the SPE Eastern Venezuela Chapter for creating these learning and networking opportunities, and our partner Inter-Rock for their continued support.

Events like this reinforce the need for continuous, high-quality professional development to meet the challenges of the energy industry. We are committed to continuing to bring cutting-edge knowledge to the community.
