This past November, the Educational Engineering team had the privilege of attending the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) 2025, the flagship event of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Beyond the technical sessions, this gathering represented an invaluable opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, exchange visions, and analyze the future direction of our industry.
🧠 Cutting-Edge Dialogues: Bridging Technique and Education
Throughout the event, we engaged in deep conversations regarding the pillars supporting current energy development. The integration of new technologies is not only changing how we extract resources but also how we train the professionals who will lead the sector.
The central themes of our meetings included:
- Petrophysics and Geosciences: New approaches in complex reservoir characterization.
- Reservoir Engineering: Optimization and simulation in energy transition environments.
- Formation Evaluation: The impact of digitalization and real-time data acquisition.
- Education Programs: The challenge of designing training that bridges the gap between academia and the technological demands of companies.
🤝 The Value of Reconnecting
The most rewarding part of these events is undoubtedly the human factor. We had the immense pleasure of sharing ideas and strengthening bonds with leading figures in the sector.
A special mention to our esteemed colleagues Marcelo Laprea-Bigott, Jorge Zajia, Oman Oquendo, and Douglas Betancourt, with whom we enjoyed pleasant and enriching discussions.
To each of them, thank you for sharing your vision and contributing to the strengthening of our global technical community.
✨ Innovation with Purpose
We returned from SPE ATCE 2025 with a renewed vision. Conversations about the future of education in the industry reinforce our mission: to transform technical knowledge into practical and accessible tools for the new generation of engineers and geoscientists.
Technology advances, but it is the exchange of experiences among colleagues that truly drives innovation with purpose.
Are you interested in knowing how we are integrating these new trends into our training programs?
We are currently designing our academic offerings for 2026 based on the findings and needs discussed at this global congress.
